Why We Recommend Reformer Pilates

Curious about Reformer Pilates?

You may have seen if you've visited us at our Flagship store here in Waihi Beach, New Zealand that we work closely with Beach Pilates Reformer Studio - Founder Jonti Batchelor.

Today on our blog we want to share a little bit about what Reformer Pilates actually is and the benefits we've personally seen and experienced through it.

WHAT IS REFORMER PILATES?

A full body workout that will challenge your stability and control while developing your core strength and mind-body connection.

The Reformer will assist and challenge you to achieve a wide variety of movement. We will focus on functional mobility, building strength and core stability. In all of the Reformer classes on offer at Beach Pilates you will be presented with a mix of contemporary pilates and dynamic reformer exercises to help you achieve your fitness or rehabilitation goals.

Jonti offers both Reformer Pilates classes and HIIT classes - so let's dive into what these are.

REFORMER PILATES

While the Reformer can seem intimidating at first, it simply adds resistance and support to dynamic exercise via the use of springs rather than weights. This allows you to achieve a low impact, full body workout using just one piece of equipment.

Beach Pilates has a range of different classes which cater to all levels of ability.

REFORMER HIIT

High Intensity interval training on the Reformer! One of my personal favourites as I love working hard, sweating it out at a high intensity pace!

HIIT CLUB is a 45 minute full body circuit class that incorporates the use of the beloved Reformer machine. This class is for those who are wanting to find that extra burn while still working with the Reformer to gain stability and control.

HIIT class consists of 6 stations. 3 rounds. Full body focus.

A FULL BODY WORKOUT THAT WILL CHALLENGE YOUR STABILITY AND CONTROL, INCREASE YOUR CORE STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGE A STRONG MIND-BODY CONNECTION

There are a tone of class options for all fitness levels, ages and experience. If you are interested in attending a class or joining permanently then check out Beach Pilates website here. We personally couldn't recommend this form of exercise enough, it's been great for me the past year attending every week. Taking the mind away from work and my to-do list and doing something for me - which is so important. You are faced with accountability by booking your class in, in advance - and showing up. There are five reformer machines per Reformer Pilates class keeping the class size small so Jonti can focus on each individual. The HIIT classes take six people as you incorporate floor exercises as well as stations on the Reformer machines.
